While the Spirit of the Ocean guides every step we take, fueling our passion for the maritime lifestyle and water sports, we're acutely aware of our role in preserving the ocean's beauty for future generations. Driven by this responsibility, Marinepool is firmly committed to a path of greater sustainability.
Durability
Since our inception, we have upheld durability as both an economic and environmental commitment. Durability in textiles means withstanding wear, tear, and consistent use while retaining their essential functions and quality. It goes beyond simply crafting products that endure; it's about providing our customers with the highest value and fostering trust in what they wear.
Repairability
The textiles of tomorrow should not just be discarded when worn out, but rejuvenated and given new life. Embracing repairability aligns with our ethos since 1991: to provide enduring quality while encouraging a sustainable relationship with our products.
Turning waste into wearables.
While there are many forms of recycling. Plastic waste recycling is particularly well known. The process is straightforward: collected bottles are cleaned, shredded, and then melted to form fibers. These fibers are spun into durable yarn, becoming the foundation for environmentally-friendly textiles.
Packaging
We're dedicated to minimizing excess in our packaging.
We constantly look for opportunities to reduce or eliminate unnecessary packaging, like unnecessary clips on shirts.
Sometimes, protective packaging is essential. In these instances, we prioritize materials that are recycled or bio-based. For example, we choose recycled polybags over traditional ones and bio-based solutions, such as using paper bands around our bags.
Cotton (ORGANIC )
Our organically grown cotton (organic) is more than just a material—it's a promise to nature and to you. Through environmentally friendly farming methods, we create a product that grows in harmony with nature—free from chemical additives and with significantly reduced water consumption. The result: a soft, durable fabric that helps protect the seas and waterways we cherish.
PrimaLoft®
PrimaLoft® is a high-performance synthetic insulation renowned for its unique blend of features that closely mimic the natural warmth and loft of down. Originally crafted for demanding outdoor adventures, it remarkably meets the specific demands of water sports textiles.
PFC-Free
Opting for our PFC-free products means making a healthier choice and contributing to the reduction of persistent chemicals released into the environment. This minimizes their impact on ecosystems and water sources, and additionally, PFC-free items simplify disposal and recycling processes.
PVC-Free
Choosing PVC-free products is better for the environment by reducing harmful chemicals. It's a healthier choice, avoiding potential hazards. Plus, PVC-free materials are often easier to recycle, making them a more sustainable choice for the future.
POLYGIENE STAYFRESH™
Marinepool uses POLYGIENE STAYFRESH™ technology, which is based on naturally occurring silver salt. The invisible technology inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria in textiles and thus eliminates the unpleasant “sweaty” smell from clothing.
S.Café® offers a unique blend of upcycled coffee grounds and recycled plastic bottles. Through this inventive combination, S.Café® has pioneered a sustainable fabric technology that presents both eco-friendly and functional benefits.
Made in Europe
Crafting in Europe offers advantages like strict adherence to labor and environmental standards, support for local economies, and shorter supply chains. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but also ensures the product quality and ethical practices we're committed to.
Future Aims
We envision a future with increased European production and the use of innovative, sustainable materials. Our goals include incorporating more organic cotton, recycled PET, and expanding our range of PFC- and PVC-free products. We are also committed to enhancing the repairability of our products.
