Fabrice Amedeo focuses on sailing and environmental protection
On November 10, 2024, the time has come again: the Vendée Globe, the legendary single-handed, non-stop sailing race around the world, starts from Les Sables-d'Olonne in France. Experienced French skipper Fabrice Amedeo will be taking part in this adventure for the third time - and this year he will be demonstrating far more than just his sailing skills.
Marinepool has been accompanying Fabrice Amedeo to regattas and events around the world for over ten years. This year, he is on a special mission: in addition to the sporting competition, the focus is on environmental protection. His boat, the “Nexans-Wewise”, is equipped with a variety of scientific instruments that collect comprehensive data on the health of the oceans during the race. Sensors measure the CO₂ content, temperature and salinity of the water, while microplastic detectors and DNA analyzers collect valuable information on the biodiversity of the oceans.
Since 1929, one of the largest historical regattas has been attracting sailing enthusiasts and top sailors from around the world to the picturesque coast of the Côte d'Azur each year. The Régates Royales Cannes is more than just a competition; it is a prestigious event supported and promoted by the city itself, bringing together the most beautiful classic sailboats in the world and the top sailors who share a passion for classic yachts.

Every year, the picturesque port of Cannes and the famous Palais des Festivals are transformed into the meeting place for the maritime industry: the Cannes Yachting Festival is upon us! This historic event attracts the biggest players in the sector and is the stage for some new innovations.
This year, 610 exhibitors present their latest products and over 650 different boats can be admired. In addition to the renowned brands that everyone knows and loves, numerous new players will also be making their grand entrance.

The Transat Jacques Vabre, which will take place this year on October 29, is a transatlantic race held every two years. It starts from Le Havre for all monohulls and multihulls. Since the first start in 1993, the race format has steadily changed. While in the beginning only single-handed sailors were allowed, since 1995 the regatta has also been contested by crews of two.
Marinepool sponsors three teams in this race: Fabrice Amedeo, who has been working with the brand for over 10 years, sails with Andreas Baden. Thibaut Vauchel has been with us for over 20 years and we are proud to support him.
Kito de Pavant sets a record with his twelfth participation in the Transat Jacques Vabre. As the second crew member on board the Class40 191 Movember sails Bertrand Guillonneau. For the qualification of boat and crew, the team has just left Douarnenez. This stage is considered one of the first important in preparation to the 30th anniversary edition of the Café Route, for which 200 skippers will set off from Le Havre to
1929 was the founding year of the famous Régates Royales in Cannes, France. Since then, the race has been a meeting place for the world's most successful sailors. The beautiful classic yachts that take part in the "Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge" as part of the Régates Royales are a feast for the eyes of both sailors and spectators.
Since 2007, Marinepool and the Yacht Club de Cannes have a long-standing partnership in the Régates Royales Classic Regatta. The collections that stem from this partnership are a success story. Marinepool is proud to present it’s new Régattes Royales Collection2023, which is available in our Boutique at the Quai Saint Pierre, Cannes, during the Régates Royales and on our website. The historical Cannes Yachting Festival is a famous event for internationally renowned boat builders. The biggest actors in the boating industry and their latest innovations can be visited on the two ports of Cannes, and the famous Palais des Festivals. This year, more than 580 boats and yachts in the water and on land as well as numerous new launches will be on display. Marinepool will be present in the Palais des Festivals, on Stand 038 for B2B and 070 for sales. We are happy to personally welcome you at our booths!
On August 26th, the 40th Schiffahrtsregatta will take place. The competition, which started as a small race between friends, has grown into a major event in the maritime community! This year, over 100 yachts and more than 800 active participants are awaited on the Danish island of Ærø. A program of thrilling races, delightful culinary experiences, and engaging conversations is prepared for all participants. As the official partner, Marinepool is proud to be part of the event. We’re looking forward to a weekend filled with action and friendly meetings!
